The Flathead Valley Open ran successfully Saturday, April 15, at the Eagles Club in Kalispell, and was hosted by the Flathead Valley Chess Club.

31 players filled three sections: 15 in the Open; 9 in 18 & under; 7 in 12 & under.

A $233 prize fund paid out to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each of the three sections.

Four grade schools and four middle and high schools were represented.
