The Winter Thaw took place in Bozeman this year the first weekend in February. The tournament attracted 34 players despite the snowstorm that arrived that weekend. For the second year in a row Matteo Nero took first place with a score of 4.5. Ben Vogel, Luke Miller & Brandon Arensmeyer tied for second. Several players gained over 100 rating points, including Brandon Arensmeyer, Gunner Lang, Sean Whistler and Isaac Eddy.
Nine players received prizes, including the 6 Bozeman prize winners pictured (Zach Eddy, Gunner Lang, Mike Muller, Emanuel Intara, Matteo Nero, Ben Vogel).
The Thaw is normally a Helena tournament where it will return in 2027. The Thaw will take place in Bozeman again in 2026 since the 91st Montana Open will be in Helena next year.
